Random word + timer
A basic drill for association speed. Hit the button for a noun, pick a timer length, and talk about the word without pausing until time runs out. The angle is free: a story, an opinion, a fact, an association — just don't let your voice stop.
How it works
- Pick a timer length: 30, 60, or 90 seconds. If you're just starting, take 30.
- Hit "Give me a word" for a random noun.
- Press "Start" on the timer and begin talking about the word out loud, without long pauses.
- When time's up, hit "Another word" and go again. Three to five in a row is a normal warm-up.
Tips
- Don't go silent. "And so…" beats silence — the point is to not stop.
- Switch roles: one round a first-person story, the next an outside description, the next a debater's opinion.
- If the word is unfamiliar, make up a meaning for it. This drill is about speed, not trivia.
- Record your first rounds. Compare two weeks later — you'll hear the filler words disappear.

Scenario prompt
A random role-play situation — act it out with your voice. From "explain memes to an alien" to "talk a dragon into a tournament".
Roller coaster
Talk about a word while the widget throws a new emotion, genre, or character at you every 15–30 sec — switch gears on the fly.
5 words into one story
Five random words, no repeats — weave them into one coherent story in 90 seconds.
Common questions
Which timer should a beginner pick?
Pick 30 seconds. It's longer than it feels. Once you can reliably "close out" 30 seconds without pauses, move to 60.
What if a word sparks no associations at all?
Start with a literal description ("it's an object/action/state, it…"), then move to a memory or a story. The chain of associations starts once you've taken the first step.
Can I play this with friends?
Yes: one person hits the button and starts the timer, the other talks. Take turns — it makes a quick two-person warm-up, in person or in voice chat.
