GTA 6 interactive map: Leonida and Vice City
Updated:
GTA 6 is set in the state of Leonida — a fictional take on Florida. The center of the map is Vice City, back for the first time since the 2002 classic, except that this time it is only one part of an open world the size of a state. Below: an interactive map of the state and a rundown of every confirmed region.
The interactive map of Leonida
Until Rockstar shows the official map, the GTA 6 Mapping Community has built its own — State of Leonida: more than 1600 points of interest reconstructed from trailer frames, pre-order screenshots and leaks. Every marker carries either an in-game screenshot or a comparison with the real place in Florida. Hit the button and the map loads right here on the page.
This is a fan reconstruction, not official Rockstar data: borders, names and details can all change before launch. But for getting a sense of the scale of the state there is nothing better right now — the community updates the map after every new trailer and screenshot.
Confirmed regions
All six regions below are official information from the Rockstar site, not rumors:
| Region | Real-world model | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Vice City | Miami | The metropolis: neon, beaches, towers — the heart of the game |
| Leonida Keys | the Florida Keys | A chain of islands to the south, boats and smuggling |
| Grassrivers | the Everglades | Swamps with alligators and airboats |
| Port Gellhorn | the Florida Panhandle | A run-down coastal town: motels, strip clubs |
| Ambrosia | Florida’s sugar belt | An industrial zone around a sugar mill |
| Mount Kalaga National Park | north Florida / Georgia | Forest, hills and the middle of nowhere |
That list alone shows the ambition: a city, resort islands, wetlands, small-town backcountry and open wilderness, all on one map.
Map size
No official numbers. Fan estimates from trailer footage and pre-order screenshots all agree the map will be noticeably bigger than GTA 5 — but any specific “twice the size!” headline is still speculation. Rockstar traditionally reveals the full map closer to launch; the moment that happens, this page gets updated and the breakdown goes in a news issue.
What to expect from the world
Judging by the trailers, the emphasis is on a world that feels alive: crowded beaches, in-game social media, wildlife from alligators to flamingos. Plus two protagonists — Jason and Lucia — who actually live in this world instead of teleporting between missions.
Whether Leonida really is that alive is something I’ll be testing live from launch on November 19 — follow along and we’ll explore the map together.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an interactive GTA 6 map?
Yes — State of Leonida, a fan map built by the GTA 6 Mapping Community: 1600+ points of interest pieced together from trailers, pre-order screenshots and leaks. It is embedded right on this page. Rockstar will show the official map closer to the November 19, 2026 launch.
How big is the GTA 6 map?
Rockstar hasn’t given any numbers. Going by trailer footage and the official site, expect a map noticeably larger than GTA 5 — a whole state with a city, islands, swamps and a national park.
Is Leonida just Florida?
No, Leonida is a fictional state based on Florida, the way San Andreas is based on California. Vice City is Miami, Leonida Keys are the Florida Keys, and Grassrivers is the Everglades.
