All GTA 6 trailers

GTA 6 has two official trailers so far, and both were events on the scale of other games’ launches. Both are below, plus everything about the third showing, which now has a date: August 27, 2026.

Trailer 1 — December 4, 2023

The announcement trailer, scored with Tom Petty. It went up a day ahead of schedule — the video leaked, so Rockstar published it officially and early. It was not the series’ first leak — GTA scandals and leaks before GTA 6 are collected separately. Even so it cleared 90 million views in the first 24 hours, a record for a game video on YouTube. What that kind of interest turns into in money — pre-orders, sales forecasts, Take-Two’s share price — is on the GTA 6 budget page.

What it showed: Vice City and the state of Leonida, Lucia in prison blues (Rockstar has never confirmed who voices her — the story of the actress), and the tone of the game — satire aimed squarely at Florida-Man Florida.

Trailer 2 — May 6, 2025

A surprise drop with no warning, landing alongside the redesigned official site. Per Rockstar, across all platforms combined the video pulled hundreds of millions of views in its first 24 hours — and it was the first real look at the game: in-engine footage, Jason and Lucia at work, a flight over Leonida.

Along with the trailer, Rockstar revealed the six map regions and the supporting cast.

The Extended Look — August 27, 2026

Formally this is not a trailer: Rockstar called it an extended look and never used the word anywhere. In practice it is the longest pre-release material in the studio’s history — 26 minutes of gameplay captured in-engine on a base PlayStation 5, stated on a title card at the very end.

It premiered on Netflix, with the free release on YouTube and the official site six hours later. Inside: a pickup broken up by a police raid, a QTE carjacking, a rooftop party, gas-station holdups, a chase, a montage of Bayside activities, a store robbery, a base jump and a security gig that ends in a firefight. Plus the HUD: six wanted stars, a weapon wheel, a focus gauge.
